Dear ISST Member
We are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Meeting of the International Society for Schema Therapy (ISST) in the historic university town of Coimbra, Portugal, from October 10-12, 2008.
On October 10, the day before the official meeting begins, we will be offering two parallel, full-day workshops: “Schema Therapy for Couples” taught by Travis Atkinson, and “Schema Therapy for Antisocial, Aggressive, and Impulsive Patients” taught by Kerry Beckley, David Bernstein, and Neil Gordon. There will be a modest additional fee for these. We hope that most of you will be able to attend one of the workshops.
The main meeting on Saturday and Sunday (October 11 & 12) will consist of clinical and scientific presentations on Schema Therapy. The main focus of the meeting this year will be on new clinical applications of schema therapy, in the format of clinical papers, panels, and workshops of varying lengths (1 hour to 3 hours or more). In addition we will have limited time available for several research presentations (20 minutes each, including a brief question period).

If you would like to make a presentation on a clinical application of schema therapy as a mini-workshop, paper, or panel, or if you’d like to present a paper on a research or theoretical topic, please submit your proposal on the Abstract Submission page. The deadline for submissions is May 15, 2008. We will inform you if your proposal has been accepted by July 15, 2008.
In addition to being a wonderful opportunity to spend time with fellow members socially, by attending his year’s meeting you will learn about the most up-to-date clinical developments in schema therapy.
